9/25 - Frustration Is In The Details
For those of you who pay really close attention, I made a quick re-edit to Episode 295 : Fighting. A sprite I used was confusing some readers unintentionally. I've changed it, see if you can find the difference! It's like one of those puzzles in the back of the comic sections. Only, there is no sly fox to help you.
9/26 - Missing Title Is No Longer Missing
I don't know about where you are, but it sure is windy here today! Two more days until I start my vacation from work. I can hardly wait! There is an episode for you this week in the form of Episode 296 : It's Not Superman. Mystery! Intrigue! What could it be!? ... Oh, wait, I already know the answer to that! Feel free to point all of your guesses towards the forum and the FaceBook group. I'm curious to see if anyone figures it out.
9/23 - AWOOOOO!
Finally got a chance to sit down and watch Where the Wild Things Are, which if you haven't done so yet, I highly recommend. First of all, the wild things look amazing, and it's incredibly easy to drift into that realm where you forget you are watching a movie. Second, it does a great job of poking your emotions. It makes you laugh in the right places, and then it turns you around and makes you feel guilty for laughing. It juggles a bunch of themes, but just like real life, I don't think any of them are really resolved and you're just left with the stark truth that life is just difficult sometimes. And being a wild thing doesn't always help that.
Also, I'm borrowing a PS3 from a friend. I've already played God of War III (liked!) and 3D Dot Game Heroes (liked!) and Bayonetta (didn't like). Anyone have any other suggestions out there? What's your favorite game? Hit me up on twitter or facebook.
9/17 - BOONK! BOONK! BOONK! BOONK!
Good morning, dear readers! Welcome to my advice column. ... Ah, yes, I think I see what the problem is. This trauma likely stems back all the way to your childhood, and the only perscription is Episode 295 : Fighting. That and more cowbell.
I'm still trying to figure this facebook contest stuff out. I'm working the kinks out of it now with a leather mask and a whip. Oops, I've said too much. What I mean is, with this new episode, there is a new contest in the FaceBook group. First person to summarize the content of all the easter eggs in this episode will win a fabulous prize. So check it out!
And have a good weekend. I'll be spending the entire weekend in a far off place that is beautiful and romantic! Whee!
9/16 - Game On!
JSYK, for those of you who don't follow the FaceBook group, I issued a challenge. So far, no one has managed to own up to it. You might check out the forum for a hint or two. The forum dwellers were usually pretty good about finding them.
After seeing Resident Evil: Afterlife I think I can safely say that the number one reason not to see it is because it's in 3D. Just my opinion mind you, but I really think it just detracts from the whole experience. It prevents me from getting fully invested in a movie the same way that anachronisms or breaking the 4th wall does. It reminds me that I am watching a movie and not "there" with the characters and the action. If you need other reasons not too watch this movie, I guess it's there. Some silly plot elements, similar in other zombie movies, don't reall keep you guessing, but hey, you probably don't need me to help you justify not seeing it. The best thing I can say is that in my opinion, it's the second best Resident Evil movie made. The writer director from the Resident Evil, the first one and so far the best one.
9/14 - Ponyo Wants Ham!
Wjoops! Kind of slipped away for the week there, didn't I? Admit it... I made you nervous... ;) Have no fear though, just busy working, living, and finishing Super Mario Galaxy 2. I know what you're here for though, Episode 294 : Bickering.
In other news, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future came out this weekend! I totally missed it! I had somehow managed to completely forget about this game until I read an article about it on Monday! What a frabjous day! I would very much like to see the animated movie in the theaters, but there is still no release date set for us North American dwellers. Hopefully they can still sign on the English speaking voice actors who voice act in the game series because I really think they add a lot of atmosphere. The last thing I would want is a bad dub... Not trying to get my hopes up, but I think I would love seeing this in the theaters as much as I loved Ponyo!
Ham! Ham! HAM!
9/8 - Mashed Potatoes!
Good Morning Friends! Hope you all had a super holiday weekend! Mine extended into Tuesday so I sure did, mwa ha ha. And speaking of holidays... Here is Episode 293 : Probably For The Best. I guess that wasn't a really good segue, but it my mind it made sense.
For those of you who would like to add some input, please drop by the FaceBook group. I'm resurrecting, for those of you who remember it, the Timothy and Elliot comic and I'm looking for some input about contest prizes and the comic itself. Thanks for your time, and have a super day.
No, really, I mean that. I'm in a good mood.
9/3 - Batta Batta Batta Batta
Happy September, everybody! And so our heroes (what's left of them) set off on a heroic journey, a journey of heroic heroics and journeying. So here is the first movie of September, Episode 292 : Here We Go Again. Lots of epic walking to ensue. Feel free to discuss here, the forum or here, theFaceBook page, whatever suits your whimsy. Your heroic whimsy, that is.
