10/26 - I Did It! With The Webcomic!
I do apologize for the lack of update last week. If you were following my twitter feed, you know what happened but for the rest of you... I went to post the episode, but realized it was unfinished. I had no easter eggs in it. So I sat down to put them in, and a few hours later Flash crashed destroying all my unsaved work, which was esentially everything I added to it. I have this really bad habit of not saving often enough. You see, I get into this groove, and I get focused and then it crashes when I least expect it. However, without waiting any longer, here is Episode 299 : P.O.P.. We meet a new/old character in this episode! Only the hardest of the hardcore with a mind like a diamond will remember who that is... Do YOU remember?
And no peeking on the character page, I left them off... for now.
Last week I had a gathering of friends planned and we were going to play a few games of Clue, a favorite board game of my childhood. I had to drag my board games out of storage and was kind of shocked to realize and remember that I didn't have a normal version of the game. I had Clue Master Detective and Clue: The Simpsons which plays like your standard Clue, but no standard Clue board game. While passing through the grocery store, I was quite intrigued when I saw a Family Guy version of Clue, but this was also not an ordinary version boasting some new cards and rules. Since I'm a bit over my love of Family Guy and yearning for a more standard version of Clue, I passed on it. Turns out later I found a normal version of Clue with the same new rules at Target for HALF PRICE. My gathering was cancelled and though I was disappointed at that, I can't wait to play this new version of Clue. It looks like the new rules and cards take a bit of the deductive reasoning out of the game and throw in a bit more chance and strategy. Though I fell in love with the game for its deductive reasoning, I greatly look forward to trying this new version out!
So who wants to come over to my house and play a board game? ;)
10/12 - With Caramel Ice Cream!
I think I just ate the most delicious home made apple crisp I have ever had in my entire life! I can hardly think about anything else. Why am I here again? Oh, right! Here is Episode 298 : Watch out For The--Nevermind. I had a lot to say this morning, so I'm spent for now. Enjoy! You might also want to check out the FaceBook group for a contest for this episode.
10/12 - I Almost Gave Up After Episode 6
Just wanted to take a few moments to share what has been occupying my time in between comic making. First, there is Realm of the Mad God. This game, while a ton of fun, can also be a bit frustrating. After you choose your class of fighter, you're thrust into the world with all of a 20 second tutorial and your weapon. You run around, you kill little pixelated enemies, which look fantastic IMHO, and try to kill enough enemies to make it to Oryx, the mad god, and defeat him. Here's the catch. You can level up to 20 and pick up armor and better weapons, but if you die, you lose all your equipment and start over again at level 1. To its discredit, the game is designed to be played with multiple people though there are usually more than enough around. The servers were recently upgraded from 40 players to 60 players because the game was linked over on reddit, so you now have a grace of 20 people running around in circles or getting lost in the forests while the rest of you get down to business. Quite simply, it is AMAZING to watch 40 people swarm around like bees, and make no bones about, that's almost exactly what it looks like, stinging the crap out of anything that comes near it. It's far from perfect, but it's a great simple, free distraction. If you can live to level 20, you can begin to unlock other classes as well.
Up next is Mega Man 8bit Deathmatch. Premise is simple. Bunch of guys modded the snot out of Doom 2 and now you play as Mega Man picking up the boss weapons from the first 6 Mega Man titles and battling it out with other players. All the stages have custom Mega Man themed backgrounds, power ups, and even a few NPCs. Though it's not solely PvP, there is an offline mode, but I haven't had any experience with it. It's a DEATHMATCH for Light's sake. Only problem is that I am terrible at it. Oh, so terrible. I routinely find myself in 4th place, which the final screen offers a congratulatory "YOU SUCK", though I did manage to come in 3rd place from what I can only assume was someone who had an epileptic seizure and passed out on their keyboard. Actually, if you are prone to epileptic seizures, this might not be the game for you. But it's insanely fun to run around, pick up new weapons (there are over 50!) and shoot people with them. To boot, also free. Made by fans for fans.
Lastly, Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Though this might be old news to those of you who saw it as it was released, I'm just discovering it. Tons of cgi blood and brutality, lots of boobies, including Xena's (beware a sausage here and there), and a very interesting story. Though I imagine they probably licensed out Disney's Historical Accuracy Department, I'm not really a stickler for that kind of thing. I know the difference between history and fantasy. At 13 episodes, the story clips along pretty quickly, so you're never really left feeling like there are superfluous scenes and events (I'm looking at you, True Blood and The Vampire Diaries). Totally not meant for kids, by the way, so don't watch this with your kids. Or at least, kids, don't watch this with your parents around...
New episode will be up tonight or tomorrow morning. Can you believe we're almost at 300? How exciting!
10/5 - Talwyn Is Very Annoying
Oh, sweet, sweet vacation! How much I enjoyed you! But it was back to work yesterday. Anguish and longing will soon follow as I await your arival once more... So, on that note, back to work means back to the comic! Here is Episode 297 : Soldiers Of Useless. There were some great guesses as to what that huge shadow might have been in the previous episode! One guess even made me wish I had thought of it! Fear not, friends, all will be revealed shortly.
I played Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction over my vacation. It was amazing! What super fun that was! I played through it twice already to purchase all the weapons, but now I'm playing through it a third time to upgrade them all to the highest level! I may even try to get all the skill points! I must have contracted Lombax Fever! O_o;
